Dit is een droef verhaal over liefde en uithoudingsvermogen. Op het eiland Prins Heinrichsøya ligt op de punt in het oosten een dode gans op het nest. Vanwege de wereldwijde uitbraken van vogelgriep besluiten we de dode gans te bemonsteren. Maarten klimt met beschermend masker en handschoenen naar het nest en neemt met een wattenstokje een monster uit de luchtpijp en de cloaca. | |

Als ik dichtbij kom, valt de man me aan. Wat is dit dier vol liefde voor zijn vrouw. Zij zit nog op 3 koude eieren. | |

Laatste nieuws: Er is geen vogelgriep gevonden in deze gans. Op 6 juni waakt man nog steeds over zijn dode vrouw. Meer dan 28 dagen, terwijl een gewone broedduur 25 dagen is! | |
