Fieke Rader is de leidster van het AWIPEV station. Zij wees me op enkele satelliet beelden op sentinel playground, waar de oorzaak van het vele ijs in het fjord op te zien was. De noordelijke tak van de Kronebreen was ingestort. Tijdens onze laatste tocht door het fjord, liepen we steeds vast op het drijvende ijs en moesten onze route aanpassen. Het waren niet zomaar kleine ijsblokken, maar hele grote stukken. Kijk zelf maar naar de Sentinel platen. Gelukkig hebben we wat wolkenvrije dagen gekend. Hieronder zie je het GPS spoor van de boottocht die we gevaren hebben voor de telling. Op 11 juni konden we de route afleggen zoals gepland. Op 18 juni liepen we steeds vast tegen het drijvend ijs. Geen doorkomen aan. | |
